Well, this is your choice. Plussing the Armor may help you survive longer but plussing the weapon may help you kill the monster faster. One way or another, you will want to start working on enchanting your armor (31,000 each zel) and enchanting your weapon (75,000 each zel). This takes time and does not come easy.
Try not to waste your money on items you do not really need. As your AC gets closer to 35-40, you will notice a big difference in monsters missing you a lot.
